I graduated from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico, in 1996. I obtained a BA in Criminal Justice with a minor in Investigations. I came to Puerto Rico in 1997. I didn’t know how to speak English and I learn trough hard work and dedication. My mother and father came from a very humble background where education was not a priority; therefore, they only attended school until the third grade. They both instilled the importance of education to me from an early age. I am the only one in my family that graduated from college. I have an incredible work ethics, I am interested in the Labor Relations because I want to learn about the Labor Unions, current problems and policies generated by changes in the global economy, technology, the work force and work place. I want to apply what I learn and use it to improve the community. I have work for the Human Resources Administration for over 14 years. For the past 10 years i have serve as a Discipline Investigator, investigating employee misconduct. During these years i have come across to unfairness and inconsistencies from management to our workers during the disciplinary proceedings. Even though I am a Discipline Investigators, and most of my investigations lead to disciplinary proceedings, I have always treated staff respectfully and fairly. I would like to one day change careers and work in an organization where I can help workers, protect their rights and keep them inform with current Agency policies and procedures to deterred the possible violations or this rule in the future. I have the willingness to learn, and help or I need is the tools and direction to be able to accomplish my goal.
