BEFORE YOU BEGIN: Remember that you need to pick an ad related to a cause or issue. Do not analyze an ad that is trying to sell something.
Write a post (click “create thread”) in which you include a picture or link to your commercial or print ad that you chose for the evaluation essay. Beneath the picture or link, write a short statement that addresses the following:
1. Why you chose the ad. What caught your attention or drew you to the ad. What makes the ad interesting or worth evaluating in your eyes?
2. What is the goal of the ad? What is is it trying to do–educate? Motivate you to action? Something else? In your opinion, how well does the ad accomplish this task?
3. What are the strengths of the ad? What are its weaknesses? Why?
