Mini-Research Paper: students will be asked to choose a topic to research, I am choosing macular degeneration (vision issue) based on the leading health indicators specified on the US Healthy People 2020 objectives. These are very broad topic areas; you will need to narrow it down as much as possible. For example, if you choose “tobacco use” as your topic area, then you could narrow it down to specifically the impact of cigarette use among US adolescents.
Paper Requirements: As part of the report you will need to: a) Provide an overview of the topic
b) Specify why this is a problem that affects wellness c) Describe how big the problem is in the US
d) Mention three ways in which wellness can be improved in this area e) Provide 2 examples on how the topic is discussed in the local and/or national media (TV, radio, newspaper, magazine, internet, ads, etc).
Be sure to also write an introduction for the report, and a conclusion section.
The final paper will need to be 3-4 pages in length and should double spaced, Times New Roman, 12 point font, 1 inch margins.
NOTE: It is very important that you cite your sources throughout the document’s text, and provide the appropriate references (APA format is preferred). A minimum of 3 references are required. Be sure to review your paper for correct grammar, spelling, and sentence structure prior to submitting its final version.
