Two essay questions, both 5 page minimum each, for a total of 10 pages. The answers much be in 12pt arial font and double-spaced. Each question must be answered from at least 5 sources which I will provide. 1. In the semester, we discussed several mechanisms and tools that countries use to create cooperation. In what ways does the original “Norwegian” draft plan presented illustrate and exemplify many of these means and tools that countries use to try to achieve international cooperation? Be sure to support your answer with theoretical arguments and empirical evidence, and be sure to cite from the readings (at least 5 different readings). 2.Despite common international interest in avoiding the predicted catastrophic consequences of global warming and climate change, the countries of the world are having a difficult time reaching a new agreement to replace the Kyoto Protocol, which expired in 2012. Drawing on the three news articles provided as well as the readings discussed in class, please explain why cooperation is difficult and how countries are trying to overcome these hurdles to achieve cooperation. What I am looking for is not a description of the difficulties but an analysis of the case using our theoretical arguments and concepts, so be sure to support your answer with at least 5 different readings as well as empirical evidence.
