Purpose
This assessment gauges your understanding of the ideas and concepts introduced in the C200 lessons, as well as your use of them to analyze strategies.
Instructions
This C200 Examination consists of questions focused on an analysis of a U.S. strategy on Somalia. This examination is worth 35% of the overall C200 grade. Your answer should be three (3)-to-five (5) typed pages. Additionally, you do not have to submit a 1009w writing evaluation form with this exam.
Your answers must be typed and single-spaced, and use Times New Roman 11-pitch font and one-inch margins. Your answers will be single-spaced because you will type your responses into a matrix. The matrix will expand as you type your answers. Write your answers using complete sentences; do NOT use bullet statements.
All the information you need to answer the C200 exam is available to you in the Comprehensive Regional Strategy on Somalia: A Strategy for U. S. Engagement (required reading). This reading is available to you in a separate document. You do not have to provide citations for the exam unless you are using sources other than the Comprehensive Regional Strategy on Somalia. If you decide to use other sources, you must cite the source IAW the Turabian style of documentation. Use either footnotes or endnotes; do not use parenthetical citations.
You may refer to the online C200 lessons, readings, and references if you need to review key concepts for the exam.You must complete this assignment and all Phase 1 requirements before you can progress on to TASS or ADL Phase 2.
Read the Comprehensive Regional Strategy on Somalia: A Strategy for U.S. Engagement, and then provide the required information below.
1. Identify the U.S. desired end state for Somalia as specified in the strategy. [10 points]
2. Identify the THREE (3) Ends specified in the strategy report [15 points].
3. Identify the associated Ways and Means for achieving each of the Ends. Do NOT just provide a list of Ways and Means. You will NOT receive full credit if you simply list the Ways and Means. You must explain and/or describe the Ways and Means for each End. [45 points]
a. You must describe a minimum of 2 Ways for each End. (20 points)
b. You must describe 3 to 5 Means for each End. (25 points)
4. Identify and explain the Risks of the Somalia strategy. You must explain 3 to 5 Risks for each End. [30 points]
Note: The Risks you provide should correspond to the Ends, Ways, and Means you answered earlier.
