The purpose of the term paper is to respond thoughtfully to a topic that is related to the debate about natural resources and environmental issues. This paper should not repeat what other sources have stated, but it should concisely respond to a larger question or problem. It should make a relevant connection to the literature and incorporate one’s own insight. 1. The paper should be 7-10 pages, double-spaced, and have one-inch margins. Bibliography/works cited page is not included in the page count.
2. A title page will be used, which includes the title or topic, your name, the course name, the professor’s name, and the date of submission.
3. The works cited should only include sources cited in the paper. It should be prepared using APA format.
4. Any paper which does not meet these requirements will be returned to the student for modifications and receive a one letter grade deduction if it is submitted within 72 hours.
5. A proposal of the term paper should outline the topic, the main points to be covered and submitted on the specified date, if you do not submit a topic proposal, you will lose 10 points off the total points.
6. Grading will be based on the following questions:
Does the paper address the topic?
Is the paper clear, coherent, and well organized?
Does this paper communicate effectively in grammar, syntax, spelling, format, and tone?
and use of good communication techniques and style?
How exceptional is the insight and personal input regarding the issue?
Does the paper meet the general requirements outlined above?
