• Group Proposal Assignment: Create a detailed plan for a group they are interested in conducting in the future that includes a research-based justification for this type of group with this specific population. The plan should incorporate the following concepts: Research justification for conducting this group with this specific population, ideal number of participants, duration of the group, length of session, open versus closed format, theoretical foundation that will be used to guide the group leader, marketing strategies, time-line, screening process of potential group members, pre-group meeting, informed consent, a detailed description of activities/interventions, etc. for at least 4 group sessions (including how you will assist members to set behavioral goals they want to work towards in the group, how you will assist members to establish ground rules that will make the group safe and effective, and how you will establish and enforce therapeutic norms), how you will measure client progress towards goals, what methods of documentation of client progress you will use, a plan for termination or graduation of clients from the group.
