Your task in this paper is to pick an occupation, briefly describe it in terms of KSAs that are necessary to succeed, and then use a bank of job applicants to simulate a personnel selection procedure. You will be provided with an Excel sheet of simulated applicants that have completed personality tests, a cognitive ability test, interviews, a criminal background check, and have had reference checks. You will need to determine what characteristics are most desirable for that job, how to best utilize them, and ultimately which applicant to select. Describe each step you take and explain why you took it.
Because you are using a general pool of applicants, there is no “best” potential employee for every job. Consequently, you will be graded on how you justify your selection procedures and the degree to which it demonstrates a mastery of the concepts and procedures from the class.
